The Persuasion of faith is vital in every Christian's walk. In Romans 4:13-25 Paul exhorts us to be persuaded that God is able to perform what He has promised to us and that through the expression of our persuasion God imputes righteousness to us. Everyone has to face the reality of righteousness, "Am I in right standing with God?" Righteousness is not something that can be earned, there is nothing you can do to earn your righteousness, it is only through God's grace that we obtain it. So, we have to face the reality that righteousness comes by faith and we also have to face the reality of sin. God speaking to Cain in Genesis 4:7 says that Sin is crouching at the door. Sin is waiting to devour. He's looking for every opportunity that you open up to him to take control of your life. But the Bible also says that Jesus is waiting at the door knocking. The question is which door will you open. Will you allow opportunity for sin or will you open the door to Jesus Christ. Our God is an able God. He is able to do anything. Because of His omnipotence our sin is not a concern of His, because if we come to Him confessing our sin, He is faithful and just to forgive it and cleanse us from it. But our unbelief is the ingredient that can send us off track. Romans 4:20 says, "He staggered not at the promise of God through unbelief; but was strong in faith, giving glory to God." It is through unbelief that we stagger from the plan of God in our life. It is through our persuasion, our strong faith and expression of it that we are assured the promises of God. And it is through that same persuasion that we receive righteousness.
